Better Built is a commercial roofing company started in Carlton, Pennsylvania in 2012 by Rudy Byler, and ran for years as Five Star Commercial Roofing. Same owner, same crews, same standard. The name changed, nothing else did.
The thing building owners are actually afraid of is not the repair. It is being on their own afterwards. Rudy’s standing answer when an owner asks who takes care of the roof a year from now is that it is us, and the warranties are honored the full term to back it.
Nothing gets done on a roof without talking to the owner first. Not a change of scope, not an extra, not a surprise on the invoice. It is the company’s one non-negotiable and it is why most of our work comes from repeat buildings.
When a competitor came in sixty thousand dollars cheaper on a job, that roof failed and the company folded. We are installing the replacement. That is the whole argument for the premium system, and it is not hypothetical.

Same owner, same crews, same warranties. If you have paperwork in the Five Star name, it is still ours and it still stands.
Our own crews. We do not subcontract the roof out to whoever is available. That matters for a warranty that has to be honored in year twelve, because the company that installed it is the company standing behind it.
From a single leak repair on a small retail unit to portfolios of several hundred thousand square feet. Rudy’s standing instruction to the crews is that a five thousand square foot job gets the same respect as a hundred thousand square foot one.
It means we are a Conklin certified roofing contractor, trained and approved to install those systems, which is what allows the manufacturer warranty to be registered against the finished roof. An uncertified installer can apply similar looking material and you will have no manufacturer warranty at all.
